Overview
Rapidly expanding invasive dove from Asia. Outcompetes native doves and pigeons. Spread across North America since 1980s.
28-33cm, sandy beige with black half-collar on back of neck. Slightly longer tail than mourning dove.
Prevention Strategies
- •Do not provide grain feeders that concentrate birds
- •Not considered a major threat currently but populations expanding

- •Legal to hunt in many areas with appropriate permit
- •Removal from sensitive areas if needed
